2nd Patient Safety Congress: Making Patient Safety Work!
Organized by UP Manila College of Medicine, College of Nursing, and College of Pharmacy, the 2nd Patient Safety Congress follows the launch three years ago that gave an overview on Patient Safety and posed a challenge to actively start safety initiatives in healthcare institutions and across healthcare professionals and advocates. This conference now aims to present best practices, results of researches and innovation that address, key issues on patient safety, and highlight collaborations across institutions and organizations to promote a national patient safety culture.
The conference format will include several sessions on different areas and issues of patient safety. The sessions will include both expert inputs, case studies with interactive discussions and research presentations including best practices and innovative strategies in different settings. Apart from oral presentations, poster presentations that feature patient safety initiatives will be integrated into the congress.
The convention will have plenary sessions in the morning with 3 tracks in the afternoon composed of (1) Executive Development Track, (2) Clinical Track, and (3) Innovative Track. The sessions under the Executive Development Track will discuss managerial, administrative, & academic issues, the Clinical Track will be on issues related to specific clinical areas and the Innovative Track will tackle translational issues and innovations & practical resolutions that need to be formed by the attendees to move patient safety forward in the Philippine setting.
