As a distinguished member of the Class of 1983, Mrs. Caramat has made a remarkable impact in the field of community pharmacy, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Since graduating, Mrs. Caramat has been a driving force in the pharmaceutical sector, having founded and served as the president of Emmaflor Drug, a prominent retail drugstore chain in Makati and Taguig. Established in 1985, Emmaflor Drug has grown to become a trusted name in the community, providing essential healthcare services and medications to countless individuals in need.

Mrs. Caramat’s dedication to elevating the standards of community pharmacy extends beyond her entrepreneurial endeavors. She has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the profession by actively engaging in industry associations and initiatives. In recognition of her exceptional leadership and expertise, Mrs. Caramat was instrumental in the establishment of The Tablet, the official publication of the Drugstores Association of the Philippines (DSAP). She served as its first editor, spearheading the dissemination of vital information and promoting best practices within the industry.

Moreover, Mrs. Caramat has held key positions within the DSAP, including the role of national secretary in 2001-2002, and currently national treasurer, where she plays a crucial role in managing the organization’s finances and ensuring its sustainability. Her exceptional leadership skills and dedication to the profession were further recognized when she served as the president of the Community Pharmacists of DSAP, advocating for the welfare and professional development of community pharmacists across the Philippines.

In 2021, Mrs. Caramat’s outstanding contributions were honored with the prestigious Presidential Merit of Excellent Service Award from the DSAP. This recognition serves as a testament to her unwavering commitment to advancing the field of community pharmacy and improving the lives of patients.
